Sri Raja Mathangi Sahita Ashtalakshmi Deepa Pooja at Virugambakkam, Chennai

Sri Raja Mathangi sahita Ashtalakshmi Pooja was conducted on 26th June 2011 at Sayee Nagar,Virugambakkam in Chennai. Sri Rajamathangi is none but the great goddess Meeenakshi who the presiding deity of the famous Meenakshi Amman temple at Madurai. This pooja was conducted under the guidance and blessings of our Guruji Dr. Sri LakshmiJi.

Sri LakshmiJi initated the devotees into the Deepa Pooja which was done with devotion and humility.Sri LakshmiJi herself had stated after the pooja that the vibrations emanating from the mantras and the surcharged atmosphere was felt even long after the pooja was completed.

Sri LakshmiJi was initiated into Raja Matangi Sahita Ashtalakshmi Deepa Pooja by Poojya Guruji Sri Manthramoorthy Dasan Sri Venkatesa Bhattachar Swamigal. This pooja was conducted as part of the worldwide effort to promote the pooja to devotees and earnest seekers by Sri LakshmiJi.

This Pooja was conducted at Virugambakkam, Sayee Nagar in an elaborate manner. The Goddess Lakshmi in all her eight manifestations (Ashtalakshmi) was invoked amidst chanting of mantras into the five deepams lighted on a kuthuvillaku (lamp). The deepam was lighted using the traditional gingerly oil and lighting each deepam with a small upa deepam.

This pooja was done on a very grand scale in days of yore by the kings to bring in prosperity, health and peace to the whole kingdom. It was called then, as Saamraajya Lakshmi Pooja.

Along with the Lakshmi Pooja, Raja Mathangi Pooja was also performed. This is one of the most unique features of this deepa pooja initiated and conducted by Sri LakshmiJi. The devotees who gathered to do this pooja were overjoyed by this uniqueness and the atmosphere was surcharged with devotion.

Sr LakshmiJi informed the devotees at various points of the pooja the significance of each aspect of the pooja when the devotees were performing the pooja. Sri LakshmiJi stressed that continuous performance of this pooja with devotion and dedication would bring health, wealth, happiness and peace to the individual and family and thereby contributing to the overall Lokakshema (global welfare).

Sr LakshmiJi also initiated the children present on the occasion into the Vidya Jayam Mantra (Hayagriva Mantra) and explained to the children (aged 7 to 12 years) the importance of chanting this mantra to gain a good education and succeed.
