Shri Sharada Navarathri Maha Nava Chandi Yagnam Oct 2010 – Report

With the kind Grace of Mother Goddess Meenakshi and the beloved blessings of the Guru Parampara, the 14th Nava Chandi Yagnam was conducted in a very divine and grandeur manner at “Meenakshi Illam” at Tiruvallur on Thursday, October 14, 2010.

The Yagna Sala was beautifully decorated with plantain trees, mango leaves, various types of fruits and flowers thus creating an atmosphere of a pleasant and cool grove for the invitation of the Goddess and invocation of the divine energies. The preliminary rituals commenced well in time with the Punyahavachana (purification ceremony) and Ganapathi Pooja (for removal of hidden obstacles).

The Maha Sankalpam (a Resolve) was taken by Sri Lakshmiji, for global welfare and for the well being of all the devotees.

In strict compliance with the traditional ways, the Agni (The sacred fire) was churned with two wooden pieces of the Pipal tree and the agni generated was used for the yagnam. The Ganapathy, Navagraha Homas were performed, followed by the Navavarna Pooja and Maha Nava Chandi Yagnam.

Six Vedic priests headed by Shri Balu Shastrigal, conducted the Yagna following all the rites and rituals as per the Vedic Shastras

As part of the main Yagna, Kumari, Suvasini , Vaduga Bhairava puja , Yogini puja , Digbala Bali puja and Ashta Bhairava Bali pujas were also conducted.

The Grand Event was very well attended and went on in a very peaceful and serene manner and the lively presence of Mother Goddess was felt by all the devotees present and the Maha Yagnam was concluded with the Mangala Harati.

Sri Lakshmiji felt the benevolence of Mother Goddess as the yagnam went on very successfully.
